National Dalit Commission Act, 2074 (Act No. 24 of 2017).

This Act provides for arrangements relating to National Dalit Commission (Commission) and for protection and promotion of the rights and interests of the Dalit community. Chapter 1 contains short title, commencement and definitions. Chapter 2 lays down the powers, functions and duties of the Commission, in addition to those mentioned in Article 256 of the Constitution. Chapter 3 provides for filing of complaints by the victim or anyone on behalf of the victim in case of caste based discrimination, untouchability or by way of any social malpractices. It contains the procedure for investigation, implementation of orders and reconciliation. Chapter 4 and 5 make provisions in respect of operation and governance of the Commission.
